ARCHPLAST Grass Grids

ARCHPLAST grass grids have been manufactured since 1999.

Purpose and Use

ARCHPLAST grass grids are a modern solution for both load-bearing and non-load-bearing grass surfaces. They protect grass from damage, as the grass grows within the grid structure, maintaining a green appearance throughout the year. Surfaces become driveable, safe, and aesthetically refined.

They are suitable for a wide range of applications:

• parking areas, driveways, paths, gardens, courtyards, terraces, sports and playground areas, field edges, and slope stabilization.

Load Capacity and Reliability

ARCHPLAST grass grids replace concrete pavers, concrete blocks, or asphalt. According to IRMA Institute testing (report no. 0093, dated February 16, 2000), their compressive strength exceeds 1700 kN/m², ensuring high reliability even under heavy loads.

Installation

Installation is simple and adaptable depending on the intended use:

• for high load-bearing areas: prepare a 30 cm base layer as for paving, add 2 cm of fine soil, and lay the grids,
• for lower load-bearing areas: level the existing grass or sandy surface, add 2 cm of fine soil, and lay the grids.

The grids are equipped with integrated connectors that allow quick assembly into a uniform surface. After filling with soil and sowing grass, the surface is rolled – and ready for use.

Maintenance

Surfaces reinforced with ARCHPLAST grass grids are maintained in the same way as regular lawns – mowing with a lawn mower is simple and efficient. In heavily trafficked areas, additional mowing is often not required. In winter, snow removal is easy, and tires maintain good grip due to the grid design, as ice does not accumulate on the surface layer.
